What to expect

Working together should feel simple, thoughtful, and collaborative. Every session is a little different, but the general rhythm tends to look something like this.

Starting the conversation

Most sessions begin with a simple message.

Tell me a little about what you have in mind — even if it's just an idea. Portraits, boudoir, business photography, or something else entirely. From there we'll talk through details like location, timing, and the general feel you're hoping for.

Sometimes clients arrive with a clear vision. Sometimes they don't. Both are perfectly fine.

Booking your session

Once we settle on a plan, I'll send over a short agreement and session invoice.

A signed agreement and retainer confirm the booking and reserve the date on my calendar. From there, your session is officially scheduled.

Planning the shoot

Most sessions are intentionally relaxed and lightly structured.

We might talk through wardrobe, locations, light and timing, and the overall atmosphere you're drawn to. I'm always happy to offer suggestions, but I try not to overcomplicate things. The best images tend to happen when people feel comfortable and present.

The session itself

Sessions are usually calm, conversational, and unhurried.

Some people worry about posing, but you don't need to perform for the camera. My role is mostly observation — noticing light, small movements, and quiet moments as they happen. We'll move through a few ideas and let the session evolve naturally.

For boudoir sessions in particular, the focus is always on comfort, confidence, and respect.

After the session

Once the session is complete, I sort through the images and begin the editing process.

Images are edited in the style you see throughout the Odd Crow portfolio — natural, atmospheric, and intentional. Finished images are delivered through a private online gallery where you can view and download your photographs.

Depending on the session, you may select your included images or receive a curated set. Additional images are often available if you fall in love with more than expected.

Image use

Clients receive a print release for personal sessions, allowing the images to be printed and shared for personal use.

One small note: images should not be altered with filters, editing apps, or AI tools. The editing style is part of the creative process you're hiring me for.

Location and travel

Most sessions take place in or around Port Angeles and the Olympic Peninsula.

If you have a location in mind outside the immediate area, we can absolutely talk about it. Travel beyond the local area may include a small travel fee depending on distance.

For businesses

Businesses and creative professionals often reach out for visual media that reflects the character of their work.

Commercial projects are quoted depending on scope, but the process is similar: conversation first, then planning, then the shoot. Restaurants, shops, artists, and entrepreneurs are always welcome to reach out.

Supporting local businesses and creative work is an important part of what Odd Crow Media is about.

If you're not sure yet

That's completely normal.

Many sessions begin with a simple message like: "I'm not exactly sure what I want yet, but I like your work." That's more than enough to start the conversation.
