Odd Crow Media: A New Chapter in Photography and Film

After years behind the lens, I'm officially launching Odd Crow Media here on the Olympic Peninsula.

The morning fog lifts slowly here on the Peninsula. It reveals things piece by piece—first the water, then the mountains, finally the details that make a place feel like home. That's how this rebrand has felt too. A gradual clearing, bringing something that was always there into sharper focus.

Today I'm officially introducing Odd Crow Media. Not a dramatic reinvention, but an evolution—one that better reflects who I am as a photographer and what I see when I look through the viewfinder.

The name comes from those clever birds that gather at every outdoor shoot I do. They watch from fence posts and tree branches, heads tilted, curious about the whole process. Ravens and crows understand something essential: the interesting moments happen in the spaces between the obvious ones.

That's what draws me to this work. The texture of weathered wood. The way afternoon light hits a wine glass. How someone's shoulders relax when they forget about the camera. I've spent years learning to notice these quiet details, and now I'm building a practice around them.

Odd Crow Media serves the businesses and people who make the Olympic Peninsula feel alive. The wine bars that stay open late on winter nights. The boutiques that carry local makers' work. The families who want honest portraits, not posed perfection. The couples who choose courthouse ceremonies over elaborate productions.

My approach hasn't changed—I still believe the best photographs happen when people feel comfortable enough to be themselves. But now I'm expanding into short-form video too, capturing the small moments that still images can't hold. A barista's ritual with the espresso machine. The last light of day on a tasting room patio. The way fabric moves when someone laughs.

The work spans commercial photography for local businesses, portrait sessions that feel more like conversations, and the kind of editorial projects that let me dig deeper into what makes this place distinct. Each shoot is different, but they all share that Pacific Northwest sensibility—a little moody, deeply rooted, unafraid of shadows.

This rebrand reflects where I want to take my practice over the next few years. More intentional. More connected to this community. Ready to tell the stories that matter to the people who call the Peninsula home.

If you've been thinking about updating your business imagery or scheduling that portrait session, I'd love to hear from you. The best projects start with a conversation about what you actually need, not what you think you should want.
