Dungeness Crab Festival 2026: Port Angeles Packed the Waterfront
Photos from the 2026 Dungeness Crab Festival on the Port Angeles waterfront: Rewind Back 2 the 80's, Supernostalgic, and a packed pier.
The morning started out gray and a little uncertain, classic October on the Peninsula. By midday the clouds burned off and the waterfront was absolutely packed. I don't think I've seen it that full.
The Dungeness Crab & Seafood Festival is one of those Port Angeles events that reliably draws people from across the region, but this year felt different. More bodies, more noise, more energy. Local vendors lined the pier with booths selling everything from handmade goods to fresh food, and the line for Crab Central snaked long enough that we decided to skip the plate and just move. Word was it was worth the wait, though.

I didn't cover the full lineup. There were multiple bands playing throughout the day and I caught what I could. The two I photographed were Rewind Back 2 the 80's and Supernostalgic, and both of them brought it.
Rewind Back 2 the 80's brought the neon. Bright jackets, a saxophone, a drummer in a tropical shirt, and a vocalist in a Guns N Roses tour shirt who owned the stage.

Supernostalgic played the 90s side of the day, and the marquee CRABFEST letters out front were a gift. I saw the frame the second I walked in. Soundgarden and Nirvana shirts, two vocalists trading the front of the stage, and a crowd that knew every word.

Between sets I wandered the pier. There were booths from local makers, a National Marine Sanctuary table with someone in a full crab costume hamming it up for kids, crab-catching demonstrations on the dock, the full range.

People were dancing in the open area in front of the stage, not just standing around, actually moving.

We almost didn't stay for the end of the day, but I'm glad we did. The sunset off the pier was the kind that makes you stop whatever you're doing.

The tower at the end of the city pier, the strait gone glassy, and that ridiculous sky.
This is the kind of day that reminds me why I like living here. It's loud and it's full and it smells like the ocean, and then it goes quiet and purple at the edges. Yeah, this place is good.
If you're a festival vendor or a local business and you want photos like these, the kind that show what the day actually felt like, I'd love to work with you. I shoot booths and stages the way I'd shoot a brand. Get in touch and let's figure out what makes sense.
